The Athletic and Human Performance Research Center’s fall seminar series features three leading scientists in health and human performance who will visit Marquette to present their research and network with students, faculty and staff. The lineup also includes Dr. Kristof Kipp, professor of exercise science in the College of Health Sciences, who will discuss some of his exciting research and collaborative work with world-class weightlifters and throwers.
- Thursday, Sept. 19, at noon: “Mechanistic Targets to Prevent Chronic Disease Progression in Women with a History of Pregnancy Complications,” presented by Dr. Anna Stanhewicz from the University of Iowa
- Thursday, Oct. 10, at noon: “Keeping Knees Healthy After ACL Reconstruction” presented by Dr. Elizabeth Wellsandt from the University of Nebraska Medical Center
- Thursday, Oct. 24, at noon: “Biomechanical Insights into World-Class Performances in Weightlifting and Discus Throwing,” presented by Dr. Kristof Kipp from Marquette University
- Thursday, Nov. 7, at noon: “Targeting Calcium Overload in Skeletal Muscle Regeneration in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy,” presented by Dr. Brian Lin from the Medical College of Wisconsin
