Dear students,
This Saturday, Feb. 10, our university community will gather for the 32nd National Marquette Day. This annual global celebration unites our Marquette nation in pride, spirit and sport to honor the values we cherish throughout the year.
While we enjoy this weekend of celebration, we must remain responsible, remembering to care for ourselves and our fellow Marquette community members.
The university adheres to its Good Samaritan Policy, and we expect students to uphold the community expectations expressed in the Student Conduct Code. Many of you have gone through Red Watch Band bystander intervention training. We ask that you watch out for each other and put this training to use if necessary.
We also encourage all students to download MUPD’s free safety app, EagleEye, as an added layer of security, and to use the EagleExpress transportation service provided by MUPD. Campus expectations of respect for others extend to the Fiserv Forum and Deer District. We ask that you represent Marquette and our mission appropriately. This includes treating the visiting teams with the class and respect expected of Marquette students.
As a community of diverse backgrounds, experiences and viewpoints, we recognize and appreciate those students who choose not to drink or are in recovery from a substance use disorder. Underage drinking, illegal substance use, abuse of alcohol and/or or high-risk use of alcohol are counter to Marquette’s values and often disrupt our ability to treat one another with dignity and respect. This impacts the safety and security of our entire community, especially the sense of belonging of those among us who choose not to consume alcohol. Please be mindful of your choices and how your actions may affect others.

- National Marquette Day Trivia, 9 p.m. in the Union Sports Annex
Friday, Feb. 9
- Craft your own spirit wear, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union
- Men’s lacrosse vs. Lindenwood, 2 p.m. at Valley Fields
- Wildin’ Out, 7 p.m. in the Weasler Auditorium
- Sponsored by the NAACP @ Marquette and Campus Activities Board, enjoy a lineup of student comedians, performances and music that will keep you dancing all night long.
Saturday, Feb. 10
- Breakfast and bingo, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in AMU’s Marquette Place
- Bingo games will be held every 30 minutes, with prizes available
- Stuff a plush, noon to 2 p.m. in AMU 227
- Show your spirit by creating your own Marquette stuffed animal. Choose from an eagle, bear or cow.
- Women’s basketball vs. Villanova, 2 p.m. at the Al McGuire Center
- In honor of Black History Month, the game will highlight the Black Fives Foundation and celebrate some of Marquette’s Black student organizations
- Men’s basketball vs. St. John’s, 5 p.m. at Fiserv Forum
National Marquette Day is our day. We hope you live it out by supporting our teams, our mission and each other.
