Dr. Callie Chiroff, clinical associate professor in the College of Nursing, and O. Emil Ovbiagele, adjunct associate professor in the Marquette University Law School, were named to Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. The list celebrates young leaders throughout Southeast Wisconsin that make a positive difference in their organizations and communities.
Chiroff, who joined Marquette in 2016, earned her way onto the list through her work as president of Project Bubaloo, a nonprofit she founded in 2018 to fund research into congenital heart disease and provide support for families with kids that have a CHD. Project Bubaloo has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for research grants, an endowed nursing lecture and bedside educational tools, among other assets.
Chiroff teaches a wide array of nursing courses, including Pathophysiology, Pharmacology and Management of Episodic Health Problems. She won a Faculty Teaching Excellence Award in 2022 and was named a Marquette Difference Maker by President Michael R. Lovell.
Ovbiagele is the founder of OVB Law & Consulting, S.C. He represents clients in civil litigation and employment law matters and counsels closely held businesses. Ovbiagele obtained his bachelor’s degree, MBA and J.D. from Marquette.
Ovbiagele litigates cases in both state court and federal court and has represented clients before the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, Wisconsin Supreme Court and Seventh Circuit. He has taught at Marquette since 2018.
