Roads to close for presidential primary debate beginning at 3 p.m. on Aug. 23

The first Republican presidential primary debate ahead of the 2024 presidential election will be held the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum. For families moving students in on Aug. 23, be aware that roads around downtown Milwaukee will be closed for security purposes. Additional roads will be closed on campus to accommodate move-in.

The following roads will be closed beginning at 3 p.m. on Aug. 23:

  • N. 6th Street from W. McKinley Avenue to W. State Street
  • W. Juneau Street from N. 6th Street to N. MLK Drive
  • N. 5th Street from W. McKinley Avenue to W. Juneau Street
  • N. Vel R. Phillips from W. McKinley Avenue to W. Juneau Street
  • N. Vel R. Phillips to N. MLK Drive (W. Highland Avenue)

Road restrictions will be for both sides of the roadway.
