The university’s COVID-19 response team will continue to monitor CDC guidance and Milwaukee gating criteria and will adjust as needed.
As we head into the last two weeks of classes ahead of finals, the university is reminding all members of the campus community to follow Marquette’s COVID-19 precautions:
- Symptom screening and testing: Fill out your daily COVID Cheq symptom screener if you have COVID-19 symptoms, self-isolate and get tested, regardless of your vaccination status or a previous infection. Weekly COVID-19 testing continues for students who have not uploaded proof of vaccination or booster.
- Testing on and near campus: Symptomatic students and those who have been exposed/identified as close contacts, as well as faculty and staff who have been identified as close contacts due to an on-campus exposure can access free on-campus PCR testing by calling the MU Medical Clinic.PCR testing and at-home antigen tests are available at locations across the city, including at the Walgreens on campus.
- If you test positive for COVID-19, self-disclose and isolate: Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 should self-disclose and follow the university guidance on isolation and what else to do if you test positive.
- Mask wearing: Anyone who feels more comfortable wearing a mask is encouraged to do so. In alignment with the latest CDC guidance, the university encourages members of our community who are immunocompromised, at high risk for COVID-19 complications or not up-to-date with COVID vaccination (primary series plus booster, if eligible) to continue wearing a mask while indoors. The CDC also recommends mask wearing in public for those who have been exposed to COVID-19 or who have tested positive within 10 days.
- N95 and disposable masks are available on campus: Marquette has disposable masks and non-medical grade N95 respirator masks for voluntary use available at the AMU Information Desk and Raynor Memorial Libraries. Each college and residence hall also has a limited supply of masks to distribute. Additional information can be found on the masks FAQ page.
- COVID-19 vaccination: The CDC recommends that everyone aged 5 years and older get their primary series of COVID-19 vaccine, and everyone aged 12 years and older also receive a booster. Staying up-to-date with your COVID-19 vaccinations offers the highest level of protection for both you and our community. Over 95% of Marquette faculty, staff and students have uploaded proof of primary series vaccination, and over 85% of the campus community has uploaded proof of booster.
- Travel precautions: Travel anywhere outside one’s own community, domestically or internationally, may increase your risk of contracting COVID-19. Check your destination’s COVID-19 situation before traveling. It is recommended that travel be delayed if you are not up to date on COVID-19 vaccination.
