After six years serving as assistant director and then director of Trinity Fellows Program, Carolyn Swabek is leaving Marquette University as of March 11. Current Assistant Director Alisha Klapps Balistreri will take over as interim director as the program opens a search for the position. The program leadership team will work with the Graduate School to ensure a smooth and thoughtful transition.
Funded through the Burke Foundation, the Trinity Fellows Program is a graduate fellowship program dedicated to developing urban leaders with a commitment to social and economic justice. Fellows participate in a 21-month study/work program while earning a master’s degree in one of fourteen fields of study.
While engaged in full-time graduate study, Trinity Fellows work at selected nonprofit organization partners in the Milwaukee area, where they work on meaningful, substantive projects. Fellows work at their agencies 18 hours per week during their academic year and 40 hours per week during the summer, between academic years.
