Join the Marquette Civic Dialogues Program for “Free Speech @ MU: How We Can Build an Inclusive and Engaged Campus Community” on Wednesday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the 707 Hub. The event will feature a panel discussion and student-led workshop.
The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Amber Wichowsky, associate professor of political science in the Klinger College of Arts and Sciences, and will feature three panelists:
- Kalen Kennedy, doctoral student, Psychological Social Inquiry Lab
- Dr. Paul Nolette, associate professor of political science
- Dr. Ericka Tucker, associate professor of philosophy
Possible topics for discussion include:
- What does “free speech” mean on a college campus?
- How can we more effectively engage one another across lines of political difference?
- What is – and isn’t – “good faith” political disagreement?
- How can we become more empathetic listeners?
