U.S. News and World Report this week released its 2022 Best Online Programs rankings. Two Marquette programs are recognized — one in the top 20 nationally; another in the top 50.
The College of Nursing’s online program moved up in the rankings this year among Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs, coming in at 38, up nine spots from 47 last year. New for 2022, the college’s online program was also ranked 9th nationally for veterans and 12th in the Nursing Administration/Leadership specialty category.
Marquette’s Master’s in Computing program remains in the top 20 nationally, ranked 14 for 2022. It’s noteworthy that U.S. News added 12 schools to its Master’s in Computing program rankings this year.
“U.S. News’ recognition of our excellent online graduate programs is encouraging, as we at Marquette continually seek ways to adapt to our ever-shifting higher education landscape and changing student demands,” Provost Kimo Ah Yun says. “Providing access to a Marquette education across a variety of modalities is increasingly important — and we are delivering in ways that are true to our commitment to academic excellence.”
Marquette is increasing flexible and online class options to meet student demand, especially for nontraditional students and those looking to complete their bachelor’s degree or change careers. Online course enrollment at Marquette grew 50% from Fall 2018 to Fall 2021, from 300 students to over 600 students.
According to U.S. News, the best online master’s programs are based on factors such as admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and academic and career support services offered to students.
