Marquette’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions is moving from a rolling admissions process to a more traditional undergraduate admissions cycle, effective for the incoming fall 2022 class. Rather than applicants receiving an admissions decision two to three weeks after submitting a completed application, the university will employ a single regular decision application deadline of Dec. 1. All first-year applicants who apply on time will be notified of their admission decision on the same Decision Day.
This year’s Decision Day will be Tuesday, Dec. 21. Emailed decision letters will include offers of admission and notification of initial scholarship awards.
“The key advantage to this strategic shift is that it gives us more time to evaluate the entire pool of applicants before making final decisions about who will be admitted into our fall 2022 cohort, or what we like to call Marquette’s Class of 2026,” says Brian Troyer, dean of undergraduate admissions. “It also has the added benefit of building excitement among our accepted students about coming to Marquette.”
Troyer adds that high school counselors have been incredibly supportive of the move to a standard Decision Day.
Following the Dec. 1 application deadline, decisions will be made on a rolling, space-available basis following the review of the initial applicant pool.
