The Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion will host the Ralph H. Metcalfe Chair Lecture on Monday, April 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Register via Eventbrite.
The conversation will align with this year’s Marquette Forum theme around racial injustice and will addresses the monumental practices that have been recently disputed in passionate and public ways across the country to topple an American past told from a singular dominant narrative.
The lecture will be delivered by:
- Dr. Lisa Blee, associate professor in the department of history at Wake Forest University
- Dr. Jean M. O’Brien, professor in the department of history at the University of Minnesota
Blee and O’Brien are the authors of “Monumental Mobility: The Memory Work of Massasoit”.
The lecture will be facilitated by Dr. Laura Matthew, associate professor of history and director of Latin American and Latinx Studies
