2019 National Survey of Student Engagement results are available

The 2019 National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), collected information from first year and senior students about their participation in activities and programs that promote their learning and development. NSSE is administered to Marquette students every three years. The February 2019 survey had a 38% response rate. The executive summary and additional NSSE reports are available on the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis’s website.

Consistent with 2016 findings, Marquette students report higher rates of collaborative learning with other students compared to NSSE peer groups. In addition, 98% of Marquette seniors report participating in at least one “High Impact Practice,” such as research with faculty, internships and study abroad — also outperforming their peer groups.

This survey is a collaboration between the Office of Institutional Research and Analysis, the Division of Student Affairs and the director of assessment.

OIRA regularly posts reports and statistics for the campus community on its website. For questions about any of these reports or to obtain additional data from institutional surveys, contact Heba Ali, research analyst.
