Serve the neighborhood with the Arrupe Center, Nov. 7, 14

The Arrupe Center for Community Service and Social Responsibility invites students, faculty, staff and community members to two Saturday service opportunities this November. Both are a chance to care for the neighbors who make our campus community home.

Make A Difference Day:

  • Saturday, Nov. 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • Opening presentation in Weasler Auditorium
    • Volunteers will help maintain lawns and yards for senior residents in neighborhoods around Milwaukee. This year, Marquette is partnering with UW–Milwaukee to reach even more households, with students from both schools serving side by side. Every small act creates a big impact, and a few hours of raking can make a real difference for a neighbor who can’t do it alone. Register online.

Leaf It Better:

  • Saturday, Nov. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon
    • Meet at the Alumni Memorial Union
    • Join a neighborhood cleanup around campus and the Near West Side. Volunteers will rake leaves, pick up litter and help leave our shared streets and green spaces better than we found them. Register online.

No experience is needed, and both events are open to all members of the Marquette community. Contact the Arrupe Center with questions.
