Marquette University’s Institute for Women’s Leadership announced Dr. Emily Cramer, associate professor in health communications in the Diederich College of Communication, has been selected as the institute’s inaugural research director.
Created to expand the Institute for Women’s Leadership’s mission of conducting high-impact research about gender and leadership, this faculty leadership role will work on the development of a research agenda that builds on IWL’s community research collaborations, of which past and present focus areas include work on law firm equity in Milwaukee, the effects of stay-at-home orders on survivors of domestic violence, and women’s board representation in Wisconsin’s top companies.
Cramer will lead the institute’s research, building collaborative partnerships on campus and in the community, supporting faculty fellows and research grantees, and disseminating research that advances gender-focused leadership and research.
