Mission Priority Examen steering committee named

President Kimo Ah Yun and Mission Priority Examen co-chairs Dr. Stephanie Quade and Dr. Bill Fliss have named the steering committee that will guide Marquette’s Mission Priority Examen process and self-study efforts through the Association of Jesuit Colleges and University’s 2027 site visit.

The Mission Priority Examen provides space and structure for each Jesuit college and university to undertake serious discussions about how they understand and live out their mission, establish goals for the future, and set forth new or renewed means of realizing those goals in the years to come.

The committee and eventual working groups will gather input from the campus community and other stakeholders during the fall semester and help draft the university’s findings from the self-study. A team of peer visitors will come to campus in 2027 to meet with key individuals, including President Ah Yun, leadership teams and campus groups to gather their own feedback.

In addition to Quade, retired dean of students, and Fliss, manuscripts archivist in Raynor Library, the committee comprises the following:

  • Stephen Blaha, director of Campus Ministry
  • Dr. John Borg, chair and professor of mechanical engineering in the Opus College of Engineering
  • Lynn Griffith, chief marketing and communication officer
  • Dr. Abiola Keller, associate dean for research and associate professor in the College of Nursing
  • Dr. Patrick Kennelly, director of the Center for Peacemaking
  • Dr. Michael Olson, teaching associate professor of philosophy in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences
  • Kelsey Otero, senior director of community engagement and government affairs in the Office of University Relations
  • Rev. James Pribek, S.J., acting vice president for mission and ministry
  • James Ryan, vice chair of the Board of Trustees
  • Brian Troyer, vice president for enrollment management
  • Luis de Zengotita, vice president for student life, belonging and well-being

Dr. Conor Kelly, associate vice provost for faculty affairs and associate professor of theology, will join the committee in January 2027 when he begins his new role as vice president for mission and ministry.
