Amy Kaboskey, director of the Marquette University Child Care Center, has announced her intention to retire after 37 years, Troy Dennhof, vice president for human resources, announced today. Kaboskey’s last day will be Dec. 31.
“On behalf of the Marquette community, I want to acknowledge Amy’s extraordinary commitment to the lives and well-being of so many children over nearly four decades,” Dennhof said. “Under Amy’s leadership, the MUCCC received a five-star rating from Youngstar, a child care quality rating and improvement system, which is an incredible testament to her and her staff’s professionalism and dedication.”
In a letter to the parents and families of the child care center, Kaboskey wrote, “This decision comes with many emotions. I have been fortunate to spend decades as part of this community, and I consider it my second home. I am honored every day that I get to be a part of your children’s lives. Thirty-seven years is a great run, and saying goodbye is not going to be easy, but I am excited to begin a new chapter, taking with me all the wonderful memories and friendships I have made.”
Dennhof said the Human Resources team will take the next several weeks to begin planning for the transition, including identifying a new director.
