The “America the Borderland” exhibit will be on display in Raynor Library from Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Oct. 2.

An opening reception will be held Monday, Sept. 21, from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Raynor Library Beaumier Suites. Light refreshments will be provided. Register online.

“America the Borderland” is an exhibit profiling 10 “upstanders” who work with and serve migrants along the border town of El Paso, Texas. The accompanying multimedia examine various ways these individuals and organizations are symbolically building a new Ellis Island and breathing life into the very idea of America.

The exhibit was created by the University of Dayton Human Rights Center and PROOF: Media for Social Justice. Departments sponsoring the exhibit include the Center for Peacemaking, Jesuit Community at Marquette University, Division of Belonging and Student Affairs and Raynor Library.
