The Olson Leadership Institute will welcome Adam Carr as the 2026 keynote speaker on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms.
Carr is an artist, journalist, community historian and organizer based in Milwaukee. Working independently for over 12 years, his work has ranged from journalism to public art, film/photography to coalition building, dialogue facilitation to community history writing to in-depth tours.
Carr was director of strategic partnerships at Milwaukee Park Foundation from 2022-25 and producer at 88Nine RadioMilwaukee from 2008-11. He is passionate about the power of storytelling in driving community change. Learn more about Carr here.
Students are encouraged to take part in the Olson Leadership Institute, a leadership development opportunity funded through the Olson Family Foundation. The Institute introduces students to and immerses them in what leadership means at Marquette through the lens of Ignatian spirituality and Catholic Jesuit values.
This year’s conference will feature a keynote speaker, workshops, call for action and reflection. The event is free and open to all students, with food provided.
