Dear Marquette community,
Since I arrived at Marquette in 2016, I have known and appreciated that it takes a village to create and maintain a campus environment that supports the varied needs of our students, faculty, staff and visitors.
Over the past decade, the ways our students learn and live, the ways our faculty teach and conduct research and the ways our staff work have evolved faster than perhaps ever before, and there is no end to that change in sight. The members of our Facilities Planning and Management team have expertly adapted to ensure everyone who calls Marquette home is positioned for success.
There is a tremendous amount of work to get our 90-plus acre campus ready for the start of a new academic year. Our dedicated FP&M team really rose to the occasion, despite working with a compressed timeline between move out day last May and next Wednesday, when we will officially welcome the Marquette Class of 2030. I spent time this summer learning about FP&M’s diverse services for the newest Campus Connections video.
During my visits I also shared my gratitude for our FP&M colleagues and how they consistently show up for the Marquette community. The momentum we have been experiencing is made possible thanks to the dedication and expertise of their team and so many of our colleagues across campus. I hope when you see FP&M team members in the weeks ahead, you will take the opportunity to thank them, too.
