Marquette welcomed about 2,100 members of its Class of 2030 on move-in day on Wednesday, Aug. 26; first-year students represent 43 states and U.S. territories and 14 other countries. As Marquette implements its enrollment strategy as part of the Marquette 2031 strategic plan, visits and applications have grown while the university’s acceptance rate has dropped 10% over the past three years.

New Student Orientation will take place Wednesday, Aug. 26, through Sunday, Aug. 30. A full schedule of events is available on Marquette Today.
Today, the first day of New Student Orientation features the Family Liturgy at 6 p.m. in the Varsity Theatre, and New Student Convocation, which will follow at 7:30 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center. Convocation, considered the formal welcome to Marquette for new students and their families, includes remarks by President Kimo Ah Yun, and is the only time the entire Class of 2030 will be together until their Commencement.
