The Graduate School will host a Teaching Assistant Orientation on Friday, Aug. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. in the Alumni Memorial Union for graduate students who are serving as first-time teaching assistants for the upcoming fall 2026 term.
The required orientation prepares new teaching assistants for their instructional responsibilities through online training modules completed before the in-person program which offers a full day of interactive sessions.
Participants will learn about pedagogy and classroom management, academic integrity, diversity, equity and inclusion, student information, Title IX policies, student accommodations and I-9 employment verification requirements.
