Women’s basketball head coach Cara Consuegra will serve as the keynote speaker at the Tempo Emerging Women Leaders Annual RISE event on Friday, June 5, from noon to 5:30 p.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms.
Consuegra will speak with alumna Kareeda Chones-Aguam about pursuing opportunity with confidence, navigating leadership in Division I athletics, and balancing the demands of career and family. The conversation will also explore the role of support systems in leadership and encourage attendees to reflect on how they approach growth.
This half-day event is designed as an interactive experience that brings women together to connect, learn and reflect on their leadership journeys. The agenda is structured to encourage both discussion and practical insights throughout the afternoon. The event will be emceed by Sofie Sanchez, director of Graduate School of Management programs in the College of Business Administration.
The event will also feature a panel moderated by Cassandra Polansky, director of Marquette Executive Education, focused on “Elevate” — a premier leadership development program created through TEMPO’s collaboration with Marquette Executive Education and supported by the TEMPO Foundation. The 10-week program blends academic rigor with practical application across four core themes: leadership identity, preparing for the next step, inspiring and influencing others, and leading change.
