Inaugural MPEC Lecture Series: Sustaining Housing Lecture, April 22

The McNeely Prison Education Consortium, in partnership with the Center for Urban Research, Teaching and Outreach, is hosting the inaugural MPEC Lecture Series: Sustaining Housing Lecture on Wednesday, April 22, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Marquette Hall 200.

This event is free and open to the public.

The lecture is part of the “Rethinking Sustainability” discussion series, which explores what it means to build and sustain healthy communities amid the growing impacts of climate change.

As environmental challenges continue to shape daily life, the series examines how individuals and communities relate to natural resources, material goods and the spaces they inhabit.

The “Sustaining Housing” lecture will focus on the relationship between sustainability and shelter, considering how housing intersects with environmental and economic stability.

Panelists will explore how housing can be reimagined in ways that are both environmentally resilient and aesthetically innovative, while addressing growing concerns around insecurity and access.
