Marquette University School of Dentistry hosted its 27th Research Day on Tuesday in the Alumni Memorial Union, naming 15 award winners between students and faculty.
The day began with a morning research and rounds poster session, featuring dozens of posters representing predoctoral, resident and faculty basic science and clinical research posters. Several of the posters will be presented at the upcoming American Association for Dental, Oral, and Craniofacial Research (AADOCR) meeting in San Diego.

The afternoon oral session featured a presentation by keynote speaker Dr. German Gallucci, chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences and the Raymond J. and Elva Pomfret Nagle Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, followed by oral research presentations from five Marquette Dental faculty members.
Posters and presentations were judged by a panel of dental school faculty. Dean Elsbeth Kalenderian, Dr. Jeffrey Toth, associate dean for research and professor of biomaterials, and Dr. Mary Cimrmancic, clinical associate professor and Rounds leader, concluded the day by presenting 13 Research Day Award winners and two Dental Rounds winners.
