Dr. Noel Brewer, Gillings Distinguished Professor in Public Health at the University of North Carolina, will deliver the 2026 Kellstadt Lecture on April 10, at 11 a.m. in AMU 227. A light breakfast will be served with lunch to follow at noon in AMU 157.
Brewer will present “Vaccination at a Crossroads: Policy Collapse and Using Behavioral Science to Ensure Resilience.” He has published over 400 papers on cancer-related health behaviors, including topics like HPV vaccination and vaping warnings. Brewer co-edited the FDA’s book, Communicating Risks and Benefits: An Evidence-Based User’s Guide, and is one of the most cited researchers in the world according to Clarivate.
Additionally, Brewer serves as the chair of the committee that monitors the United States’ measles elimination status. He advises the World Health Organization on the drivers of vaccination and previously served as a voting member of CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP). Brewer has advised three presidents on vaccination, and has addressed the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine on multiple occasions.
