The Marquette Law School Poll is the No. 2-ranked poll in the January 2026 annual update of Nate Silver’s “Silver Bulletin” Pollster Ratings of more than 500 pollsters. This is the second year in a row the Marquette poll has ranked No. 2 in the nation.
In presenting the results, Silver writes “The top-rated pollsters — The Washington Post, Marquette University, NYT/Siena — will still be familiar to longtime readers.” The Washington Post topped this year’s list.
The “Silver Bulletin” Pollster Ratings are the recognized successor to the “538” pollster ratings developed by Silver. In January 2024, the Marquette Law School Poll was rated third by 538 and held the ratings’ only perfect 10.0 for transparency. The Marquette poll has been rated in the top 10 each year since 2019 in the 538 and Silver Bulletin ratings.
Charles Franklin, poll director and professor of law and public policy, commented, “We poll in the most consistently close state in the nation, so it is especially satisfying to see such a high rating for accuracy.”
