President Kimo Ah Yun earlier this month launched a national search for Marquette’s next vice president for mission and ministry, and the search committee has scheduled listening sessions with stakeholder groups across campus to aid in their work.
All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend a listening session on Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in AMU 163. Those who have participated in Mission and Ministry activities are especially encouraged to attend.
Additional sessions will be held at a later date for members of the Division of Mission and Ministry and Marquette’s Jesuit community.
The listening session will include a discussion of the position with the goal of helping the search committee gain a more thorough understanding of the important issues that will face the vice president for mission and ministry.
In preparing for the meeting, consider the following questions:
- It’s five years from now and we have hired the right leader. What does this person’s success look like? What has changed for Marquette?
- What attributes should the vice president for mission and ministry possess? You may wish to review the position profile before the listening session.
- What questions are particularly important for the search committee to ask candidates?
Those unable to attend the meeting are invited to provide insight to Dr. Conor Kelly, associate vice provost for faculty affairs and chair of the Vice President for Mission and Ministry Search Committee. Members of the Marquette community are also invited to share names of potential candidates.
