Speed skater and 2020 Opus College of Engineering alumnus Emery Lehman will compete in two events — the men’s team pursuit and the 1,500 meters — at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano Cortina, Italy.
The Oak Park, Illinois, native is participating in his fourth Olympic Games, having earned a bronze medal in the team pursuit in Beijing in 2022.
The United States’ team pursuit trio of Lehman, Casey Dawson and Ethan Cepuran have their eyes on gold after finishing first at the 2025 ISU World Speedskating Championships before setting the world record in Salt Lake City later that year.
Lehman holds a degree in civil engineering from the Opus College of Engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering from Johns Hopkins University. He arrived on Marquette’s campus in 2014 having already become the youngest male U.S. speedskater to make his Olympic debut in history.

Sunday, Feb. 15
Men’s team pursuit quarterfinals, 9 a.m. (NBC)
Tuesday, Feb. 17
Men’s team pursuit semifinals, 7:30 a.m. (if the U.S. advances out of the quarterfinals) (USA)
