Office of Student Development launches monthly podcast highlighting student care and community

The Office of Student Development has launched “Marquette CAREs,” a new monthly podcast that looks beyond the classroom to showcase how Marquette fosters care, support and a sense of belonging for its students.

The podcast was created by Kelly Albrecht, student case manager for the CARE Team, and Zabrian Oglesby, assistant dean of students. “Marquette CAREs” will feature conversations with staff, students and faculty about programs and people that support Marquette students in meaningful, often unseen ways.

The podcast’s mission is to highlight the often untold stories of cura personalis, or care for the whole person, at Marquette. It aims to give students, families and the broader community a deeper understanding of how higher education supports student well-being and success.

“So much of the most impactful work happening on college campuses doesn’t always make headlines,” Albrecht said. “’Marquette CAREs’ is about telling those stories, the ones that remind students and families they are seen, supported and never navigating college alone. Our hope is that listeners hear these conversations and feel a stronger sense of belonging, whether they are on campus or supporting someone who is.”

Marquette CAREs will be released monthly on the fourth Tuesday and will be available on the Marquette CAREs Captivate website, as well as major podcast platforms, including Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Listeners are encouraged to subscribe to hear stories that showcase the heart of the Marquette experience.
