Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture: Acting with Grace in the Legacy of Dr. King, Feb. 4

Marquette’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Lecture, “Acting with Grace in the Legacy of Dr. King,” will be held as part of Mission Week on Wednesday, Feb. 4, at 10:30 a.m. in the AMU Monaghan Ballrooms.

This panel brings together campus and community leaders to reflect on how the Mission Week theme, Act with Grace, aligns with the teachings and legacy of King. Panelists will share how King’s commitment to love, justice, courage and nonviolence informs their lives, their roles at the university, and their professional journeys. Through personal reflection and dialogue, the conversation will explore what it means to lead, serve and engage others with grace — especially in moments of challenge, disagreement and change.

The panel will be moderated by Tyce Holmes, A&S ’25, coordinator of mentorship and student success in educational opportunity programs, and feature:

  • Dr. Leslie Buckner, A&S ’00, MPT ’02, Marquette alumna, Black Alumni Association member and director of rehabilitation services at Methodist Hospitals
  • Vincent Lyles, Marquette trustee and executive director of Milwaukee Succeeds
  • Derek Mosley, Law ’95, director of the Lubar Center for Public Policy Research and Civic Education and former Milwaukee County judge
