Marquette women’s volleyball will travel to Louisville, Kentucky, to match up with seventh-seeded Western Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, Dec. 5, at 3 p.m.
The Golden Eagles, recipients of an at-large bid to the tournament, are led by first-year head coach Tom Mendoza, All-Big East selections Hattie Bray and Natalie Ring, and Big East Co-Freshman of the Year, All-Big East, and All-Freshman honoree Isabela Haggard.
This year marks Marquette’s 14th appearance in the big dance in the last 15 seasons, with the only absence coming in the spring of 2021 due to a reduced tournament field.
Western Kentucky is coming off the program’s 10th Conference USA tournament title, having bested Florida International University in five sets. These teams played previously this season, resulting in a three-set sweep in favor of the Golden Eagles as part of the Marquette Invitational.
If Marquette is victorious, it will advance to play the winner of Loyola Chicago and No. 2 Louisville on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 5 p.m.
