Rev. Joseph Simmons, S.J., joins President Kimo Ah Yun on WTMJ’s ‘The Upswing’

Rev. Joseph Simmons, S.J., assistant professor of theology in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences, joined President Kimo Ah Yun on this month’s episode of 620 WTMJ’s “The Upswing.”

The pair were also accompanied by Rabbi Levi Stein, president and CEO of the Friendship Circle of Wisconsin, for a discussion about faith, community, and the holiday season.

With December marking a sacred season for both Christian and Jewish communities, the trio reflected on the meaning of Christmas and Hanukkah in Milwaukee and Wisconsin today, considered the role of faith and university support in fostering resilience during times of tragedy and grief, and shared personal holiday traditions — from meaningful gifts to memorable meals and the shared joy of giving to others.

Hosted by Marquette alumnus Jeff Sherman, “The Upswing” highlights the ever-changing world of business and commerce in Milwaukee and across the state of Wisconsin. President Ah Yun is joined each month by an expert from campus to discuss their work.
