The 16th Street viaduct is now fully closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic from Clybourn Street to Pierce Street after an inspection determined the bridge requires repairs.
The northern portion of the viaduct over the Menomonee River was already closed as part of an ongoing rehabilitation project between Canal Street and Clybourn Street.
No timetable for reopening has been set. The Department of Public Works will provide updates when available.
