Dr. Rosemary Stuart, professor of biological sciences, and Dr. Karen Andeen, associate professor of physics, will be working with the provost’s office as special advisors to the Office of Faculty Affairs, focusing on addressing faculty isolation by seeking to build a more supportive faculty community — particularly in STEM disciplines, but also more broadly across the university.
Their work will take a collaborative approach to identifying and addressing policy and practice issues on Marquette’s campus that may currently represent barriers to our faculty and their success. Stuart and Andeen are supported in this work by a $645,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation, entitled Fostering an Inclusive and Equitable Community for STEM Faculty, that they received in collaboration with Dr. Jeanne Hossenlopp, vice president for research and innovation.
Stuart and Andeen invite faculty to connect with them to share ideas or concerns related to faculty success and community building; please email them at rosemary.stuart@marquette.edu and karen.andeen@marquette.edu.
