Seniors Erin Cavender and Brennan Wills are co-winners of the Chris Farley Scholarship, which celebrates creativity and positive use of humor.
Cavender is a Theatre Arts and Communication Studies double major from Prospect Heights, Illinois. She is an Administrative Assistant at the Helfaer Theatre on campus, a tutor at the MIC Speakers Lab and a sales associate at the Marquette Spirit Shop. Cavender is also a member of several organizations including Marquette University Players Society, Marquette MARDI GRAS, Dance Inc., A Moment of Magic, and Alpha Sigma Nu, the honor society for Jesuit colleges and universities.
Wills is a digital media and history major who is president of the Written and Spoken Arts Club and a tour guide for Marquette Admissions. He performs in four ensemble bands, is the judicial administrator for Marquette Student Government, is in Alpha Sigma Nu and is heavily involved in volunteer work for the Knights of Columbus.
The Farley Scholarship is named after Chris Farley, the legendary “Saturday Night Live” comedian who also starred in several hit movies before his death in 1997. Each year, the scholarship is given to at least one student with senior standing. All candidates must submit both an application and an audition reel.
