Marquette honors Native American Heritage Month

Marquette honors Native American Heritage Month this November by recognizing the deep history, cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples and reaffirming the university’s ongoing commitment to Native students, faculty, staff and alumni.

Throughout the month, the university community is encouraged to engage in events and learning opportunities that celebrate Native voices and traditions while reflecting on Marquette’s own location on the traditional homelands of the Menominee, Potawatomi, Ho-Chunk, Fox, Mascouten, Sauk, Ojibwe and other nations.

A full events schedule will be shared later this week in Marquette Today

Marquette’s commitment to supporting Native communities continues year-round through the Council on Native American Affairs, academic partnerships, recruitment and retention initiatives, and student organizations such as the Native American Student Association. Marquette’s Land and Water Acknowledgement is available online.
