The Department of English will host a celebration honoring the 250th birthday of beloved author Jane Austen (1775-1817) on Thursday, Nov. 20, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Marquette Hall 105.
The event will feature an Austen trivia contest, word games, Regency-era card games, period costumes, a selfie photo station, Regency-themed food and more.
The celebration offers students the opportunity to learn more about Austen’s work and Romantic-era literary culture while connecting with other Austen fans across campus.
Attendees are encouraged to register in advance by Tuesday, Nov. 19.
