Search for next permanent provost resumes; semi-finalists interviewing this month

The search committee to identify the next permanent provost and executive vice president for academic affairs has resumed its work this fall semester, working with executive search firm Isaacson, Miller to recruit candidates to the pool. In their recruitment efforts, Isaacson, Miller heard strong support for Marquette, especially for Marquette’s 2031 strategic plan, Guided by Mission, Inspired to Change.

Last month, the committee evaluated a broad and deep pool of candidates that included sitting provosts, deans with five or more years of experience, and leaders from R1 research universities. Using CVs, cover letters and insights from Isaacson, Miller, the committee has identified semi-finalists who will interview this month.

Following those interviews, the committee will engage in discernment and discussion with President Kimo Ah Yun to identify finalists who will visit campus later this fall.

Additionally, select campus stakeholders will be invited to participate in the finalists’ visits. This is a confidential search to attract the best possible candidates.
