Marquette University has been recognized as a 2025 top transfer destination due to the dynamic pathways it maintains to support transfer students.
The recognition comes from Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, which annually releases its Transfer Honor Roll, naming the top 25% of highest-rated colleges and universities. This marks the eighth consecutive year Marquette made the honor roll and ninth time overall.
“Receiving this award not only highlights the work we do as an office but also shines a spotlight on the dedication across the university to support our incoming transfer population,” said Catie Koruba, assistant director of transfer admissions in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. “It takes a great deal of interdepartmental communication and coordination to meet the unique needs of transfer students. In our office, we have three staff members dedicated exclusively to working with transfer students: A.J. MacDonald, Jane Cimperman and myself. When working with students, we each strive to meet them where they are in the transfer process to best support their needs and help them achieve their academic goals.”

The honor roll is determined by 40 key metrics related to support and success of transfer students, including college cost, admission practices and campus life for transfers. The criteria result in a Transfer Friendliness Rating, which determines the top achievers.
Marquette welcomed 127 new transfer students in fall 2025 and has 422 on campus for the 2025-26 academic year.
In June, the university announced a formal partnership with Waukesha County Technical College by offering guaranteed admission to qualified WCTC students, marking the 15th guaranteed admission agreement Marquette has created with regional colleges to assist students in planning their transfer pathway.
The Marquette University transfer admission application must be received no later than Dec. 1 for spring semester enrollment and July 1 for fall semester enrollment. More information about overall transfer planning resources can be found online.
