Marquette Global Brigades Medical Chapter seeking donations

Marquette’s Global Brigades Medical Chapter seeks gently used Marquette or Milwaukee Brewers T-shirts that are blue, yellow, white or gray in sizes small through 3XL for its trip to Panama over winter break.

The organization also seeks donations of unused toothpaste, toothbrushes and floss from local dental offices or businesses.

Global Medical Brigades is an international movement of students and medical professionals working alongside local communities and staff to implement sustainable health systems. The organization works in remote, rural and under-resourced communities in Honduras, Panama, Nicaragua and Ghana that would otherwise have limited to no access to health care.

During the medical clinic days, those involved in Global Brigades do not wear scrub tops to avoid being mistaken for healthcare providers. With your donations, MU Global Brigades can avoid purchasing uniform attire. This money would instead provide additional scholarships to students and make the experience more financially feasible.

Additionally, any dental donations will be given to the community members during clinic days to provide sustainable dental care.

If interested in donating, email the medical chapter or make a general monetary donation on the chapter’s fundraising page. Those interested can also support Global Medical Brigades by purchasing supplies from its Amazon Wish List.
