In 1926, the St. Joan of Arc Chapel left its original location in Chasse-sur-Rhône, France, to be reconstructed on Long Island on the grounds of its new owner, Gertrude Gavin Hill. In 1962, it was sold to Marc Rojtman and his wife, Lillian, who offered the chapel to Marquette University in 1964.
On Tuesday, Oct. 28, a delegation from Chasse-sur-Rhône, including the mayor, 12 high school students, two filmmakers and five chaperones, will host an interactive display showcasing the history of the chapel and its connections to their town.
All are welcome to view the display in the lobby of Raynor Library from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
