This year marks the 24th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which claimed the lives of 2,977 people at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and in Stonycreek Township, Pennsylvania. The Marquette community joins together in prayer in remembrance of those lost.
PEACE PRAYER
Attributed to Saint Francis of Assisi, founder of the Franciscans (1181–1226)
Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace;
where there is hatred,
let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born
to eternal life.
Marquette University Naval ROTC placed 2,977 American flags in Central Mall in remembrance of those who lost their lives on 9/11.
