New university program assessment process launching this fall

IDEAS, the new university program assessment model and process launching this fall, will be rolled out to all active academic degree-granting programs and to a pilot group of co-curricular programs.

Communication will be sent to program assessment leaders in mid-to-late September regarding the official kickoff, along with the ongoing support available for programs utilizing the new model and process.

Last academic year, university program assessment underwent a design of a new model and process to evaluate student learning program outcomes. The University Assessment Committee drew from an analysis of the prior process and from faculty input on the need for a more streamlined yet meaningful approach. In addition, it was imperative that the new design also work for co-curricular programs, recognizing their importance in program assessment efforts.

IDEAS was formed and shared with all academic programs, along with many co-curricular and service programs, to gather feedback. Input was taken to finalize IDEAS for launch this fall.
