Marquette Athletics to honor Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder during competitions

Marquette Athletics will honor Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder with moments of silence prior to the first home competition for each of the university’s athletic teams — including events this weekend for volleyball and women’s and men’s soccer.

Teams will wear T-shirts during warmups featuring Scott’s and Noah’s numbers — 88 and 43, respectively — in recognition of their late classmates.

All home athletic events were canceled last weekend out of respect for Scott and Noah, as well as the student-athletes injured in the crash, and to give the Marquette Athletics community space to grieve.

The teams’ first competitions this weekend include:

  • Volleyball vs. Ball State, Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center
  • Men’s soccer vs. Lipscomb, Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at Valley Fields
  • Women’s soccer vs. Loyola Chicago, Sunday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. at Valley Fields

The campus community is encouraged to print the below graphic, which features the same imagery as the warm-up shirts, to display in support of the Marquette Athletics community.

Counseling services and pastoral support are available to faculty, staff and students during this time of grieving.
