Marquette Athletics will honor Scott Michaud and Noah Snyder with moments of silence prior to the first home competition for each of the university’s athletic teams — including events this weekend for volleyball and women’s and men’s soccer.
Teams will wear T-shirts during warmups featuring Scott’s and Noah’s numbers — 88 and 43, respectively — in recognition of their late classmates.
All home athletic events were canceled last weekend out of respect for Scott and Noah, as well as the student-athletes injured in the crash, and to give the Marquette Athletics community space to grieve.
The teams’ first competitions this weekend include:
- Volleyball vs. Ball State, Friday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center
- Men’s soccer vs. Lipscomb, Saturday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at Valley Fields
- Women’s soccer vs. Loyola Chicago, Sunday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m. at Valley Fields
The campus community is encouraged to print the below graphic, which features the same imagery as the warm-up shirts, to display in support of the Marquette Athletics community.
Counseling services and pastoral support are available to faculty, staff and students during this time of grieving.
