The Center for Urban Research, Teaching and Outreach and the Arrupe Center will host a Civics in Action Lunch and Learn, “Democracy as a State of Being: The Foundations of Democratic Citizenship,” on Thursday, Sept. 18, at noon in AMU 163.
This month, CURTO will host Dr. Melissa Gibson, associate professor of educational policy and leadership in the College of Education, to explore the practice of democratic citizenship, looking at the work of the civil rights activists as examples of the principles, processes, structures and actions of democratic citizenship.
Lunch will be provided.
