The Counseling Center will host Lifesavers Suicide Prevention Training on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. in AMU 157.
This training, facilitated by Marquette University Counseling Center staff, will teach the warning signs for suicide risk and discuss helping skills and ways to support someone in distress. In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month, this event is open to the Marquette University community, including students, faculty and staff.
Disclaimer: This is not intended to be a form of counseling or treatment, and it won’t train you to do therapy with someone who is suicidal. This program is designed to offer hope through positive action and to prepare you to react effectively when someone in your life is struggling, in distress or seems like they might be suicidal.
