In alignment with its and Marquette University’s missions and visions, Marquette’s Institute for Women’s Leadership continues to offer research mini-grants to support scholarly work focused on gender or sex. These grants provide funding for research-related activities that advance academic knowledge in these areas. In addition to an increase in the maximum award amount, this year’s grantees will be provided a streamlined reporting tool to submit their end-of-award impact summary.
IWL offers research mini-grants of up to $2,500 to Marquette faculty and staff researchers on a rolling basis — an increase from its original $1,000 maximum award. These mini-grants are designed to support research-related activities that advance scholarship or academic knowledge around gender or sex. The funds can be used for a range of research expenses. While funds cannot be used to pay for salaries of faculty or staff, they can be used to pay Marquette student research assistants and participant stipends, as well as various other research-related expenses for qualifying projects without access to monetary support from alternative sources.
