The Center for Peacemaking invites all students to apply for the university’s Indigenous Solidarity Immersion. This is a unique program in which a delegation will visit the Stockbridge-Munsee Reservation to develop a holistic understanding of the history, culture, sovereignty and contemporary lifeways of tribal communities.
Jo Ann Schedler, a Marquette alumna, will guide the delegation through an exploration of site visits and topics including tribal sovereignty, health equity, language preservation and environmental justice.
A travel diary of last year’s program is available online. This year’s program will take place over fall break from Thursday, Oct. 16, through Saturday, Oct. 18. A participation fee of $100 will help cover lodging, food and travel costs. If you need additional financial assistance, please indicate so in your application.
Apply online by noon on Monday, Sept. 22.
