AHPRC announces 2025-26 Pilot Award winners 

The AHPRC Pilot Award program is designed to facilitate and foster collaborative health and performance-related research. This year, two winning projects were selected to receive up to $10,000 to help fund their research over the academic year: 

  • Pain in Athletes Intervention Pilot Study in Aging Former Athletes, Master’s Athletes, and Nonathletes 
    • Dr. Jacob Capin, assistant professor of physical therapy; Dr. Marie Hoeger Bement, professor of physical therapy; and Dr. Danilo Tolusso, clinical assistant professor of exercise science and co-director of graduate studies in sports and exercise analytics. 
  • Behavioral Coaching to Increase Engagement in Yoga Among Women Veterans with PTSD 
    • Dr. Jacklynn Fitzgerald, assistant professor of psychology; and Dr. Rachel Bollaert, clinical associate professor of exercise science; with collaborator Dr. Meghan Bennett from the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Affairs Medical Center; and community partner Michelle Marrero from Beyond Yoga, LLC.
