Marquette University is proud to launch Charting Our Course — a coast-to-coast journey to introduce President Kimo Ah Yun to alumni, parents and friends while charting a bold course for the university’s future. Building on the inspiration of his spring inauguration, the initiative will share President Ah Yun’s vision for the years ahead, rooted in our Catholic, Jesuit tradition.
This fall, President Ah Yun will visit seven cities nationwide, beginning in September with stops in Milwaukee, the Twin Cities and Seattle. At each event, he will highlight the university’s momentum and expand on his inaugural theme: “Open your heart. Find your compass. Change the world.”
“I have been so impressed with the many ways our enthusiastic alumni have gone on to Be The Difference, modeling excellence in purpose-driven careers,” President Ah Yun said. “I’m looking forward to sharing our wonderful student stories from campus and connecting with our worldwide community as we shape our vision for Marquette’s exciting future.”
During the tour, President Ah Yun will also share progress on the university’s strategic plan, “Marquette 2031: Guided by Mission, Inspired to Change.”
Vice President for University Advancement Tim McMahon emphasized the importance of this moment:
“We have a unique opportunity during this moment in Marquette’s history to engage with our alumni, parents and friends. We look forward to introducing our Marquette community to a mission-driven and student-centered president who continues to elevate Marquette as a leading Catholic, Jesuit university,” McMahon said.
In his inaugural address, President Ah Yun set the tone for what lies ahead:
“The world needs a strong Marquette. It needs passionate and compassionate leaders. It needs individuals who believe faith and reason can and should coexist. It needs thinkers and dreamers — the faithful and the curious. It needs Marquette.”
With Charting Our Course, that call to action now extends across the nation, inviting the entire Marquette community to help shape the university’s next chapter.
