Free passport opportunity open to students this fall

This fall, the Office of International Education at Marquette University is offering an opportunity for students to receive financial support toward obtaining a U.S. passport. Through the Institute of International Education American Passport Project, up to 25 students will be awarded $165 grants to cover the cost of applying for a U.S. passport.

To qualify for the grant, students must:

  • Be a U.S. citizen eligible to receive a passport
  • Be 18 years or older
  • Be enrolled at Marquette University
  • Be considered low-income based on FAFSA data
  • Preference will be given to students who:
    • Intend to study abroad through Marquette University
    • Are in their first year (freshman or transfer)
    • Have never held an adult U.S. passport
    • Are Pell Grant eligible
    • Are majoring or minoring in a language or STEM-related field

Interested students should visit the Marquette Study Abroad website for full details and application instructions. Early application is encouraged, as funding is limited and awarded on a rolling basis.
